Heart Health ABCs:
Aspirin: One aspirin a day (81 mg low dose aspirin), keeps the cardiologist away
Blood Pressure: Control blood pressure and heart risk goes down
Cholesterol: As long as blood pressure is controlled, cholesterol should not be a problem
Diet: If needed, make the choice to lose weight or eat better
Exercise: Get exercise as often as you can
Fish (oil): Substitute fish for meat when you can
Garlic: Take garlic supplements to reduce blood pressure, keep cholesterol healthy, and reduce plaque

Budoff, M.D., FACC, is Professor of Medicine at the David Geffen School of Medicine and Director of Cardiac CT at the Division of Cardiology at the Harbor-UCLA Medical Center in Torrance, California. Dr. Budoff received his medical degree from the George Washington University School of Medicine in Washington, D.C. and completed an internship and residency in internal medicine, as well as a fellowship in cardiology at Harbor-UCLA Medical Center.
